The SL-1500C removes the speed control slide (a DJ feature) and adds a phono preamp Ortofon 2M Red cartridge (for easy plug play). - 2M Blue stylus features a nude diamond elliptical stylus which offers a noticeable sound quality upgrade. It features better tracking a wider frequency range than the the 2M Red (which is only diamond tipped)
