The consensus sweats and , but for my money, 1991's Trompe Le Monde ranks near the top of the saga. Arguably their most energetic album from beginning to end, Trompe features absolute head smashers like the anthemic "U-Mass," the "americanized" cover "Head On." the Frank Black-madness "Planet of Sound," and the wicked opening title track (love the metal-esque guitar play). These heavyweights get cut with the usual Pixies' diversion like the halcyon "Bird Dream," and the psycho-spoken word piece "Subbacultcha".... you know, when you grope for Luna.
