Two EPs that marked a turning point for the Cocteau Twins. Both Tiny Dynamine and Echoes In A Shallow Bay were recorded by , and to test the production capacities of a new studio. The sound continues where their previous EP, Aikea-Guinea, left off. Heavily effected guitars, simple and languid bass lines, drums with just the right amount of gated reverb, and Fraser's trademark indecipherable vocals are all there. There are layers upon layers of sounds all adding up to the ethereal rock sound that the Cocteau Twins had pioneered. The production is more raw and revealing than what would be released on their albums, but the lush melodies and otherworldly qualities are all there.
