Description
Released in 1967, this was the legendary bands seventh American, and fifth UK, studio album. With famous tracks such as Back Street Girl, Yesterdays Papers, Ruby Tuesday, and Please Go Home, the album was the beginning of the bands brief fling with psychedelic rock. Following the success of Aftermath, the incredible lyrical pair of Jagger and Richards came together to pen down the material for this album as well, and the result was incredible.
However, Jagger was very disappointed with the end result. All the back and forth that happened during recording, overdubs, and more led him to state that most of the album was rubbish. In fact, the only song he truly liked was Back Street Girl.
Despite his harsh words, it was clear that the audience didn't agree. Between the Buttons was a commercial and critical success. Many of its singles even hit the Billboard Hot 100, while the album itself was within the top 10 in three countries. In fact, critic Robert Christgau went so far as to call it one of the greatest rock albums! This was further emphasized as it reached Gold status in the States. It was even included in Rolling Stones 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
So whether youd like to go with the critics or disagree with Jagger, there is no doubt that this is a must-have for all the bands fans. To bring home the true musical experience, visit .
